Conor McGregor supports the East Wall protestors and criticizes Varadkar

Conor McGregor supported the East Wall protestors and said that the incoming Prime Minister Leo Varadkar “should not step in to lead our country."

In the past few weeks, people in the East Wall area have held large-scale protests against the housing of about 400 asylum seekers in the old ESB building in the area.

Since then, some far-right groups have intervened in these protests, and local TD Gary Gannon even claimed that the protests have been “hijacked.”

When asked about the protests in the Twitter Q&A, the UFC star said: "I stand with the people of Dongwall. No, I don't want to be a politician. It's just that they have to be responsible to me.”

MacGregor said he found the outgoing Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin “likable”" but he criticized Leo Varadkar.
